At EUROfusion’s 2nd in-person workshop on maintenance interfaces with TFV/RH – Divertor, experts tackled one of the toughest challenges: 👉 The Tritium Fuel Vacuum (TFV) system, whose massive pumping unit may need to be removed for divertor maintenance with remote handling tools. Key debates included the He-starting option for reducing heat loads during ramp-up—a promising but not-yet-official approach. This option could impact pump types, port allocation, divertor cassette body design, and overall layout. With studies ongoing, critical parameters are being defined now, while remote maintenance tooling for Divertor, Limiters, and TFV remains central.
